The Sewing Machine
by Natalie Fergie

View in Library Catalog

Anyone with an old singer sewing machine will love this book! The way the characters are all connected through the generations through just one machine is beautiful! The narrators do a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life. A must read for any quilter!

Honestly amazing! I love everything about this book. I listened to the audiobook and it was read perfectly by Michelle Williams.

Chase Me

This book feels like it’s early it Tessa writings. I enjoyed the book, but it doesn’t have the depth that her newer books have.

The Atlas Six

Romance, mystery, magic, science, unpredictable plot lines- basically all the ingredients for something amazing. I am obsessed. The book reads from 7 different view points but I never wished I was reading from one perspective over another. I am extremely grateful I read this now, not when it first came out, so I can immediately start book 2.

Time's Convert

I am so glad the story of the DeClermont family continued. Maybe not as intricate as the trilogy, I found myself most enjoying the flashbacks to Marcus past. Phoebe's transition to life as a vampire wasn't bad, just not as detailed. And there were some snippets about Diana and Matthew's twi s which were delightful.

Hunting The Falcon

Tina Brown raved about this book in the NYT. I don't know if I share her enthusiasm so far. The narrative can drag. You would think with the authors' backgrounds as educators and academics, they would know how to make th Best to take her endorsement with a grain of salt. She's not a historian, but an expert of British royal scandals (and acclaimed Vanity Fair editor, etc, etc). As a writer she tends to prioritize readability than nuance. Look at the way I can see her doing the same when reviewing this book.

Shadow Of Night
by Deborah Harkness

As detailed as the first novel, maybe a little but too much in parts. The author introduced numerous historical characters that were hard to keep track of at times. The fantasy and romance aspects were still strong and engaging.

Burden's Edge

I liked his first series but the sequel series really shows off his growth as a writer. This was a great continuation of the characters and stories that were started in the first five book series.

The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes (a Hunger Games Novel)
by Suzanne Collins

After the Hunger Games, I knew where Snow would end up. That didn't make this any less interesting to read. Instead it brought up so many questions of human nature and how small events can change the course if one's life. Great read!

The Book of Life

The last in the trilogy, the story was finished with the rich and depth of the first novel. Story leaves the reader wanting to know what might happen next, but answered all the major questions the author introduced.
